The John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation has launched the pre-purchase availability of its inaugural Mental Well-Being Certification, designed explicitly for fitness professionals. This move signifies a substantial stride in linking mental well-being with the fitness industry, presenting a unique opportunity for fitness professionals globally.

Existing scientific research overwhelmingly indicates that exercise and physical activity benefit mental health. Eighty-nine percent of all published peer-reviewed research between 1990 and 2022 found a positive, statistically significant relationship between exercise/physical activity and mental health. The optimal mental health benefits are suggested to be achieved through three to five 30-45-minute moderate to vigorous exercise sessions per week. Notably, individuals meeting criteria for depressive disorders are recommended to engage in 30-45 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise 3-5 times weekly, preferably under structured group supervision or individual coaching by a physical therapist or fitness professional.

Lynne and Victor Brick, Founders of the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation and Owners/Founders of Ohana Growth Partners, express their vision for the Mental Wellbeing Association, stating, "We started the Mental Wellbeing Association, an initiative of the JWB Foundation, to be at the forefront of the mental well-being renaissance that is underway today. We believe this association will contribute to the global advancement of mental well-being education and will have a profound positive impact on the lives of millions."
