In a strategic move indicative of its ambition for rapid growth in the healthcare sector, ŌURA, a connected smart ring company, has enlisted Jason Oberfest, a former Apple Health executive, as the VP of Health Care.

Oura, initially launched through a Kickstarter campaign, has progressed from its inaugural smart ring in 2015 to the latest third-generation ŌURA Ring introduced in 2021. Known for its comprehensive health tracking capabilities, the ŌURA Ring utilizes over 200 biometrics to offer detailed insights into various health metrics, including sleep patterns, physical activity, stress levels, heart rate levels and variability, menstrual cycle, and blood oxygen levels. The device is complemented by a robust companion app, providing additional layers of information related to overall health and wellness.

Oberfest, who was a key member of Apple's health team, brings a wealth of experience to his role as the VP of Health Care at ŌURA. His mission is to establish partnerships with payers, providers, and other leaders in the healthcare space. In a statement on LinkedIn, Oberfest emphasized the growing body of clinical research highlighting the significance of good sleep and regular activity in improving health outcomes, particularly in areas like cardiovascular, metabolic, and mental health.

This move positions ŌURA at the forefront of the intersection between technology and healthcare.
