Studio Pilates International has expanded its presence through early 2025, as interest in reformer-based Pilates maintains strong momentum. The boutique fitness franchise added 20 new studios in 2024, increasing its total footprint from 91 to 111 locations by year end. That growth has continued into the current year, with 114 studios now open globally and more than 60 in development.

According to the company, total client visits in 2024 reached over 2.26 million, a 29 percent increase compared to the previous year. Network-wide sales rose 36 percent to 52.6 million dollars. The brand also reported training over 4,000 new instructors and welcoming more than 40 new mentors, indicating continued investment in professional development across its franchise network.

Studio Pilates' newest opening in Oakville, Ontario, its second Canadian location, drew attention for setting internal records. The studio reported 2,344 pre-launch sign-ups and more than 40,000 dollars in pre-opening sales, making it the strongest launch in the company’s history so far.

Founded in 2002 by former Olympic swimmer Jade Winter and licensed physical therapist Tanya Winter, the company built its programming around safety, form, and efficiency. Their 40-minute reformer Pilates classes are designed to be low impact but high intensity, aiming to attract clients across a range of fitness levels.

The Pilates market, particularly within boutique fitness, has experienced consistent growth in recent years. Demand for reformer-based classes has increased as more individuals seek functional, core-focused workouts that align with broader wellness goals. Studio Pilates’ expansion reflects this wider trend, positioning the company among a competitive set of reformer-focused brands establishing themselves in both established and emerging fitness markets.

New locations set to open include Edina, Minnesota on May 3, Superior, Colorado on June 7, and Harlem, New York on July 12.

While co-founder Jade Winter attributed the company’s growth to its structured and science-based approach to Pilates, its trajectory also highlights the rising popularity of niche formats in the boutique fitness industry.
