24 Hour Fitness has announced a national partnership with Action for Healthy Kids,, a nonprofit organization focused on improving children's health and well-being through school and community programs. The collaboration will roll out with a series of free events and educational initiatives aimed at encouraging families to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The initiative, shaped by feedback from 24 Hour Fitness employees, emerged from the company’s annual engagement survey and subsequent staff listening sessions. Employees reportedly expressed a strong interest in contributing to their communities through wellness-focused outreach efforts.
“This partnership was driven by our employees' strong desire to give back to the communities we serve and to make a tangible impact beyond our club walls,” said Karl Sanft, President and CEO of 24 Hour Fitness. “We know how important it is to help families build healthy routines early on, and partnering with Action for Healthy Kids allows us to support that mission in a hands-on, meaningful way.”
The collaboration will debut with a nationwide series of Open Gym Days on May 17, running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time at select 24 Hour Fitness locations. These events—scheduled to take place in Irvine, San Diego, Denver, and Dallas—will offer guided group fitness activities, interactive wellness stations, and family-friendly engagement opportunities with fitness professionals.
In addition to these in-person events, the two organizations will co-host a virtual webinar on May 1, 2025. The session will feature Sanft alongside Raphael Konforti, Senior Director of Fitness Business and Operations at 24 Hour Fitness. The conversation will center around practical strategies for families to incorporate health and movement into daily life.
“24 Hour Fitness is the perfect partner for us to grow our shared mission of building healthier futures for children,” said Rob Bisceglie, CEO of Action for Healthy Kids. “Together, we're making fitness more accessible, fun, and sustainable by meeting families where they are and encouraging daily movement through school partnerships and community engagement.”
The partnership also includes plans to develop accessible wellness resources for schools, further extending the reach of the initiative beyond gym walls. Organizers hope these efforts will offer lasting support to educators and parents working to instill lifelong wellness habits in children.
While the partnership reflects 24 Hour Fitness’ broader focus on community engagement, both organizations emphasize that the core goal is simple: making movement a joyful, regular part of everyday life.
