Life Time has announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, continuing its commitment to professional development opportunities for its personal trainers, stretch specialists, and group fitness instructors.
As one of the largest employers in the training and group fitness sector, Life Time employs more than 3,500 personal trainers, stretch specialists, and Pilates instructors, along with over 8,500 studio instructors. The collaboration provides these professionals with complimentary access to NASM's ClubConnect platform, which includes continuing education courses, reduced rates for certifications, and exclusive workshops. Combined with the company’s own certification programs, this access helps ensure that Life Time’s trainers and instructors stay at the forefront of the wellness industry, equipping them with skills to support members’ health and wellness.
"Our affiliation with NASM reflects our commitment to the professional growth and ongoing education of trainers and instructors at Life Time," said Ryan Sonnenburg, Vice President of Life Time Personal Training. "By expanding access to educational resources, we empower our experts to deliver exceptional results and maintain our culture of excellence within our athletic country clubs."
David Van Daff, Vice President of Industry Development & Corporate Affairs at NASM, emphasized the value of the partnership. "Life Time offers significant opportunities and benefits for its personal trainers, coaches, and instructors that foster growth, development, and retention," he said. "Their dedication to certification, specializations, and development ensures that fitness professionals are continually equipped with the most advanced resources and continuing education, promoting a culture of lifelong learning and excellence."
As Life Time continues expanding its network of athletic country clubs across the U.S. and Canada, the company is also launching a four-week paid internship program for aspiring fitness professionals. The initiative is designed to provide participants with fitness certification and practical training, reinforcing Life Time's commitment to developing the next generation of trainers.
