Crunch Fitness has recently announced organizational changes at its executive level. Chequan Lewis has been appointed as the new President of Crunch, following Ben Midgley's transition from CEO of Crunch Franchising to a role on the company's Board of Directors, effective March 15, 2024. This strategic move is designed to bolster franchisee relations and capitalize on Midgley's significant contributions to the franchise's growth.

Lewis, whose previous roles include Chief Operating Officer and the inaugural Chief Equity Officer at Pizza Hut U.S., brings a wealth of experience in operational leadership and strategic development. His academic credentials from Howard University and Harvard Law School, combined with his background as a business litigator and Presidential Leadership Scholar, underline his commitment to both business excellence and civic engagement. As President, Lewis is tasked with driving the operational strategy for Crunch's owned and franchised locations, collaborating with other executives and franchise owners to enhance growth, performance, and brand prestige.

Jim Rowley, CEO of Crunch Worldwide, expressed confidence in Lewis's leadership, noting his strategic orientation and successful track record as assets that will propel Crunch to new heights. Lewis himself is enthusiastic about his new role, emphasizing his lifelong dedication to fitness and franchising as key motivators for his involvement with Crunch. He aims to contribute to the company's legacy by working closely with the team and franchise network to deliver exceptional experiences for members, gym teams, and franchisees.

The announcement of these leadership changes comes at a significant time for Crunch Fitness as it celebrates its 35th anniversary and approaches notable milestones, such as expanding its membership to nearly 3 million and increasing its gym count to over 500 locations worldwide by 2024. During Midgley's tenure since 2009, Crunch has seen remarkable growth, expanding into 41 states and seven countries, and achieving a leading position in the fitness franchise sector.
