The Global Wellness Institute has released new data showing that the United States leads the global wellness economy, valued at $5.6 trillion worldwide. According to the latest report, the U.S. holds a staggering $1.8 trillion of this market, doubling the $790 billion of China, which ranks second.

This comprehensive data is part of GWI's 2024 report, available through its Geography of Wellness platform. The development of this platform was supported by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a global leader in evidence-based education and certification for fitness and wellness professionals. Susie Ellis, GWI's Chair and CEO, emphasized the impact of making this data widely accessible: “By making this information available to all, NASM is playing a crucial role in getting GWI’s detailed analysis into the hands of investors, academics, business leaders, and government agencies looking to analyze and understand this innovative, world-leading wellness market and the opportunities that lie ahead.”
