Physical therapy clinics face increasing financial and operational challenges, including low reimbursement rates and rising copays. TRX is marketing its equipment and education resources as potential tools for clinics looking to integrate functional training into rehabilitation programs.
TRX is expanding its focus to include rehabilitation. The company has introduced a three-part initiative featuring PT-approved tools for clinical use, an education program for practitioners, and rehabilitation programming on the TRX App™ designed to support at-home recovery.
TRX products, including the Suspension Trainer, Bandit, YBell, Rip Trainer, and TRX Rocker, have been used in rehabilitation settings such as VA hospitals. The company is now promoting them more directly to physical therapists.
“The Suspension Trainer is great because it doesn’t take up a big footprint, and every single patient on your schedule will be able to use it,” said TRX Senior Master Instructor Chris Nentarz, PT, who has incorporated the equipment into his practice.
TRX has introduced the Rehabilitation Essentials Online course, a self-paced program designed to train practitioners on using TRX equipment in rehabilitation. The company states that this approach allows clinics to integrate functional tools while managing costs.
For at-home rehabilitation, TRX offers Rehab to Resilience content on its app, providing PT-led programming for conditions such as lower back pain, tendonitis, and knee replacement recovery. The company reports that its rehabilitation programming is supported by more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
TRX CEO Jack Daly, who used the company’s tools during his recovery from a torn bicep, said, “We’re a company built on sharing information about how to lead a healthy lifestyle. Focusing on physical therapy, resilience, and overall health is really important to us. It’s part of who we are and what we do. It’s why we started in the first place.”
The initiative reflects a broader trend of fitness and healthcare integration as companies position themselves within the rehabilitation and medical fitness space.
