Our latest gym tour takes ATFW to LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic. With statistics revealing the impact of physical inactivity on healthcare systems, it's crucial to focus on promoting active aging. In Canada, for instance, physical inactivity costs the healthcare system a staggering $3.9 billion dollars annually [source: Public Health Agency of Canada]. Beyond the financial burden, the consequences are felt by citizens, and the need for a proactive approach is clear.

LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic has stepped forward to address this issue by promoting active aging and fitness as a means to prevent chronic diseases, strengthen bones and muscles, and combat depression and anxiety. Their mission is not only about reactive healthcare but also proactively fostering a healthier, more active lifestyle for older adults.

Sara Hodson's journey to establish LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is inspiring. With a decade of experience in cardiac rehabilitation, she recognized the potential of healthcare-led exercise beyond the clinical setting. To make this vision a reality, she took an entrepreneurial leap, leaving her job and cashing in her pension to open the first location in 2011. Her determination and passion have seen LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic grow. They are now 14 locations across Canada, offering a unique approach to active aging and fitness
