HYROX Opens Bidding for 2026 and 2027 World Championship Host Cities

HYROX has announced an open call for cities worldwide to submit bids to host its World Championships for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. This marks the first time the event will be open to competitive bidding from global destinations.
The HYROX World Championships are the culminating events of each season. Previous editions have taken place in cities such as Nice, France, with the upcoming event scheduled to be held in Chicago in June 2025. The competition attracts participants ranging from elite athletes to recreational fitness enthusiasts.
Participation in HYROX has grown significantly in recent years. The organization expects approximately 650,000 athletes to take part in the 2024/25 season, with projections of reaching one million participants the following year. The World Championships typically span several days and include pre-event registration, an opening ceremony, multiple days of racing, sponsor activations, and closing events.
Each of the upcoming World Championship events is expected to attract over 6,000 athletes from more than 80 countries, in addition to an estimated 10,000 spectators. The event is also livestreamed, particularly the Elite 15 races, which draw substantial global viewership. Organizers highlight the potential for economic impact and international exposure for the host city.
Cities interested in hosting must provide financial and logistical support to ensure the event is delivered to international standards. The selected locations will have the opportunity to showcase their capability to organize large-scale sporting events and gain visibility within the global fitness and wellness community.

Cities must request an invitation to quote directly from HYROX in order to be eligible to submit a bid. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 1, 2025. All bids must include a financial proposal and relevant supporting documentation. Submissions will be evaluated based on criteria including venue suitability, technical capabilities, and the level of commercial and branding support offered.
